In the very first issue of Pop’Africana in April 2010, I interviewed Buddha Blaze, the hip hop organizer based in Nairobi.
About 2 years or so have passed and he is still grinding it out, expanding, putting singers and rappers “on”, and traveling the globe– all, as he once told me, “for the love of hip hop”. I linked up with Blaze for the day in the south side of Nairobi, which led to a trip to Africa’s most notorious and largest ghettos, Kibera.
