Sunday Mornings at Sister Sadies

❝This editorial was inspired by a Nina Simone song – ‘Four Women’. I simply re-imagined Sister Sadie. I imagined she was like an all-knowing Auntie, the one everyone wanted to be around.  I imagined she lived some miles away from everyone  in a big house with a garden down by the countryside. I also imagined she was known for her good cooking and made it a ritual that the family gather at her house every Sunday morning after church service. I imagined there would be Jazz, blues, cigars, old liquor,  and a lot of laughter . Senegalese beauty and muse, Metay, simply played Sister’s Sadie’s niece.  I envisioned a very dressed up affair, seeing that everyone came  from church. I also imagined it was the 1950′s and that Metay could carry herself like a total lady.❞

  1. What a wonderful concept! I would love to see you do one for Aunt Sarah or Peaches.

  2. Beautiful imagery.
